Where to eat Indian food in Marbella: a 2026 local guide

6 min read·Local guide

Marbella has hundreds of restaurants but very few genuine charcoal tandoors. This guide explains what separates a real Indian kitchen from a generic menu, and how to make the most of the trip whether you set off from the centre, the Golden Mile or Nueva Andalucía.

How to recognise an authentic Indian kitchen

The first clue is the oven. A charcoal tandoor runs above 400 °C and seals meat in minutes: the surface picks up a light smoke, the inside stays juicy. An electric oven never produces that contrast.

The second clue is the spice work. When cumin, coriander and garam masala are ground the same morning, the aroma is completely different. Ask — a kitchen that grinds in-house is always proud to say so.

  • Charcoal tandoor, not electric
  • Spices ground fresh daily
  • Slow-cooked curries rather than one reused base sauce
  • A deep vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free section

What to order the first time

For a table of four, three registers work beautifully: something from the tandoor (chicken tikka or sheek kebab), one creamy curry (butter chicken or malai tikka masala), and one with real character (madras or garlic chilli).

Add a biryani to share, a freshly baked garlic naan and a dal makhani. That covers mildness, heat and texture without repeating flavours.

Getting here from Marbella

From the Old Town or Avenida Ricardo Soriano it is roughly twelve minutes on the A-7 towards Estepona; exit at San Pedro and the restaurant is two streets in.

The real advantage is not the time, it is the parking. San Pedro is effortless to park in and dinner is unhurried — close to impossible in central Marbella in high season.

Book a table, collect, or order in

To dine in, send a WhatsApp with the date, time and number of guests; in summer the 21:00 tables go quickly.

If you would rather eat at home, we run our own delivery in San Pedro and Guadalmina, and we are on Glovo, Uber Eats and Just Eat for the wider area.
